Manawanui very unlucky first up

Top 3yo Manawanui was extremely unlucky to finish second to Hot Snitzel in the Group II Royal Sovereign Stakes at Warwick Farm in his first run back since his very successful Spring Carnival.

Manawanui was caught up behind the eventual winner early in the straight when they straightened up and he came out and took his running.  Having then to switch out behind heals Manawanui still made a herculian effort to finish within a long neck of the eventual winner in Race Record time.

It has shown that he is not far off his best again and Ron was extremely happy with his return.  Expecting the Gelding to improve another 3-4 lenghths going into his next start.
